Smile inducing fun with the 35th annual Route 66 Fun Run is just one of the exciting events scheduled in Kingman, Arizona. Thank you Katie Barthlow of the Kingman Office of Tourism for the information and tips.

May 3 & 4 – Inaugural Golden Valley Poppy Days Celebration – Discovery! Fun! Community! Side by side parade! Vendors! Located at American Legion Post #22 at 3435 N Verde Rd in Golden Valley, Fri, 12om – 6pm. Sat, 1oam – 6pm. For more info, call Mystie Griffith at 928.727.6745.

May 3 – 5 – 35th Annual Route 66 Fun Run – More than 800 vehicles carrying thousands of friends will be joining the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona on May 3, 4, 5 for a weekend of adventure! Historic Route 66 Fun Run participants from across the globe will meet in Seligman to travel a 140-mile stretch of Route 66 with events planned in nearly every community along the way. The procession will conclude in Topock/Golden Shores with an awesome award ceremony to cap off the weekend. Saturday is the big event in downtown Kingman, with over 800 classic cars on display on Route 66 & Beale St from 9am to 4pm. We extend a big THANK YOU to all of the downtown businesses in Kingman for hosting the Fun Run Show N Shine Car Show. Please patronize the businesses as you enjoy the event. May 4 -3:30 PM Calico’s Restaurant, 418 W Beale St, Kingman, AZ – Meet America’s storyteller. Author Jim Hinckley of Jim Hinckley’s America will be signing books and answering questions about Route 66 travel planning. Hinckley is the author of 22 books including Backroads of Arizona, Murder and Mayhem on the Main Street of America: Tales From Bloody 66, The Route 66 Encyclopedia, Here We Are … On Route 66, 100 Things to Do On Route 66 Before You Die, and The Big Book of Car Culture  

May 4 & 5 – Gem & Mineral Show – Join us for a weekend of fun, family, and shopping! Educational displays & exhibits! Gemstones, minerals, fossils, rocks, jewelry, woodwork, clothing, and more! Also featuring kids’ activities, raffles, hourly door prize drawings, food vendors! Saturday, 9am – 5pm Sunday, 9am – 4pm Located at Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd. Free admission! Donations are appreciated.

May 4 & 5 – Cinco de Mayo Festival – Family friendly! 100 vendors! Beer garden! Food trucks! Free entry & free parking! Dancing, live music, DJ! Pony rides, bounce houses, face painting! Located at 3320 Stockton Hill Rd. Staples Shopping Center. Saturday, 11am to 9pm. Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Beer garden hosted by Mohave County First Responders Foundation.

May 4, 11, 18 – Kingman’s Market in the Park – Join us for Kingman’s Market in the Park! Located at Lewis Kingman Park, 2201 E Andy Devine Ave. Here you’ll find an array of products including baked goods, local produce, clothing, hand-made arts & crafts, and so much more! 8am to 12pm.

May 4, 11, 18 – Kingman Farmers Market at Thunder-Rode – We have been providing our community with fresh, local seasonal produce and supporting Kingman’s local artists and craftspeople through every season for several years. We also support our local bands who are known to entertain the market crowds. The Kingman Farmers Market, located in the Thunder-Rode Event Center, 102 E Beale St. The Kingman Farmers Market will take place every Saturday in the Thunder-Rode Event Center as long as weather is permitting. Spring, Fall, and Winter hours are 9am-1pm. Summer hours are 8am-Noon. 

May 5 – Concert in the Park – Enjoy a FREE concert in the park! May’s featured band is GoodHeart! Bring a blanket or chairs to sit on, snacks, picnic dinner and drinks of choice. Family friendly so bring all your family and friends! Located at Metcalfe Park, 315 W Beale St. Concert starts at 4pm.

May 10 – Roaring into the 20s Gala – Join us for a fun night of dueling pianos, amazing food, beautiful views and good company. This event will take place at the Hualapai Mountain Resort. Events starts at 6pm. This will be a black-tie event. 1920’s attire is encouraged but not required. We are excited to come together as a community to support Cornerstone Mission. While it is unfortunate we must raise funds under these circumstances, we are excited to once again see our wonderful community come together to support such a great cause and to have a great time doing it! All tickets include entrance to dueling piano performance, dinner, and dessert bar. There will be a cash bar and silent auction. May 11 – Mary Chan’s Race for Hospice – The KRMC Foundation will host its annual Mary Chan’s Route 66 Race for Hospice on Saturday, May 11. The first race will begin promptly at 7:15 a.m. Proceeds from this event will help fund the ongoing operating expenses of the Joan & Diana Hospice Home in Kingman. The hospice home provides end-of-life care to individuals and offers respite services to their families. In addition to the 10k and 5k races, the event includes a 1k race on Route 66 for juniors (age twelve and under) and a 5k walk for anyone of any age. An awards ceremony will follow the race, with awards presented to the top three race finishers in each age group by gender. Racers and walkers can sign up online at All participants will receive a custom t-shirt. Participants can pick up race packets on Friday, May 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dambar & Steakhouse, located at 1960 E Andy Devine Avenue in Kingman.

May 11 – Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive – Your local US Postal Service Mail Carrier will leave a donation bag at your home.

  1. Please fill the bag with canned food, cereal, dry food, and pasta.
  2. Mail Carriers will pick up the bag from your front door on Saturday, 11 May 2024.
  3. There will be drop off locations on 11 May if that is better for you.
  4. Donated food will go to the Kingman Area Food Bank and other local charities.

Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States. 

May 11 & 12 – 46th Annual Kingman Festival of the Arts – FREE ADMISSION! Local artisans will display their creations including paintings, ceramics, photography and jewelry. This year we’re introducing The Marketplace where you can shop for fun and exciting merchandise, gifts and decor. Also featuring food, beer, mimosas, and live music and entertainment provided by Leonard Interior, Casey Frank, KP Studio, AZ Blue Rayz, GoodHeart, and BAHIRA/Hot Hips Belly Dancers. The festival is presented by Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club Foundation, with net proceeds going towards Rotary local and international service projects. May 17 – Mohave Pride Fantassance Gayla – Join us for the official Mohave Pride Fantassance Gayla, our kick-off event! We will be joined by special entertainment, community leaders, and have our Royalty competition to crown the 2024 Mohave Pride Royalty! Seating is limited to advance tickets are highly recommended! General Admission: $15, or $20 at the door VIP Admission: $25, or $30 at the door. (Vip includes front row seatting, extra swag, and special attention! As well as discounted drinks from the bar) Purchase tickets at–Fantassance-Gayla-tickets 

May 17 – 19 – Kingman Route 66 Street Drags The Kingman Route 66 Street Drags are the largest legal street races in the world! We will be closing down Rt 66/Andy Devine in the middle of Kingman, AZ! We will hold the 1/8 mile drag race right down the middle of Ol’ 66! Taking place on May 17th through the 19th, get ready to witness some of the most powerful and high-performance vehicles as they race down Route 66 right in Kingman. The races will feature various categories, from muscle cars to motorcycles, ensuring that every gearhead will find something to enjoy. The three-day event will also feature dozens of food and craft and exhibition vendors situated behind the starting line on Route 66. Spectators can expect to see burnouts and have photo-ops with the famous Street Drags Trophy Girls. General Admission is $20, children 6 and under are free with a paying adult. Spectator parking will be available at the Mohave County Fairgrounds with a trolley ferrying spectators to and from the West gate entrance. May 18 – Chillin’ on Beale Bring your car down for a fun time. Classics, customs, creatives, motorcycles, EVs, you name it! Cruise on down to Beale Street for music, good food, and down-home Kingman atmosphere! Free and open to the public – vehicle spots open. May’s theme is Tribute to the Military. 3pm to 6pm. May 18 – Fantassance Drag N’ Slay After Party – Join us for the official Mohave Pride Fantassance Drag N’ Slay, our official Adults Only After Party! Drag N’ Slay is our legendary after party!! With fun entertainers, loud music and so much fun! Seating is extremely limited so advance tickets are highly recommended! General Admission: $15, or $20 at the door VIP Admission: $25, or $30 at the door.  May 18 & 19 – Gay in May 2 Days & 2 Nights of Fantassance Fun! Mohave Pride is now Mohave Pride Fantassance! A Storybook Fantasy Pride Experience for the whole family! Join us on the weekend of May the Eighteenth – May the Nineteenth for merriment galore! Celebrate love, fellowship and each other in a safe and cordial place! We bid you welcome once more! The Fantassance Festival is a free, family friendly event! PRIDE IS FOR FAMILY! Both the Family you’re born with that supports you and the Family you choose when the one you’re born with doesn’t! Mohave Pride is now, and will always be a FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT! NO EXCEPTIONS! We understand the need and the desire for the Adult stuff which is why Mohave Pride will ALWAYS include an Adult ONLY after party (not an adult zone at the event, but a separate event to let your freak flag fly). 

May 18 & 19 – Pioneer Country Gun & Knife Show – Gun & Knife, Coins & Collectibles Show – College Park Community Center, 1990 Jagerson Ave & Van Nuys  Saturday, 9am – 5pm. Sunday, 9am – 2pm.
