On Sunday (2/25) afternoon, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue spent the afternoon training with the K9 teams in Lake Havasu City. Teams from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Kingman came together to participate in group training – in the areas of trailing/tracking, area/wilderness air scent and human remains detection. Nine of our search dog teams came out for the training! These search dog teams continue their training so they can pass the very strict and difficult National Standards as part of our Arizona Search and Rescue Coordinator Association (ASARCA) certification program. As the teams continue training and progression into their skillsets, they will become valuable resources for our search and rescue missions. These teams are active members of our SAR Units (geographically organized in the Arizona Strip, Bullhead City, Kingman and Lake Havasu City) and will draw on their search and rescue experience and training, to be a more resourceful asset to the team. We look forward to the additional canine teams as they become certified. Here are some pictures from yesterday!
