Upcoming Pavement Preservation Project Lane Restrictions

KINGMAN, Ariz. – Starting Tuesday, October 11, 2023 and continuing through the end of the month, the City of Kingman will be conducting pavement preservation projects throughout the city. These projects will include additional chip seal in residential district 1, as well as milling, grading, and paving. Work is expected to be performed between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Sweeping of chips will be ongoing, starting on Wednesday, October 12th.

Work will begin in the College Trails and Eagle View areas and progress South on the attached map. Crews will be onsite, distributing fliers to residents before work begins in front of those areas.

During this time, the City would like ask residents and businesses to follow the guidelines listed below:

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS – Lane restrictions and closures will be present during construction. Please slow down and use caution when traveling in work zones. When possible, please use alternative routes.

NO PARKING ON STREET – Vehicles parked on the street by the time work begins may be towed at the owner’s expense.


LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION – Streets must be dry to apply treatments. Please adjust or turn off all sprinkling or irrigation systems 24 hours before work to prevent water from entering the street.

After a short delay due to mechanical issues, work will resume on Hualapai Mountain Road starting Monday, October 9th and is anticipated to be completed by Friday, October 13, 2023. The work in this area will be performed between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Utility adjustments and surveying for striping is scheduled for Monday, October 16, 2023.

During this time, there will be intermittent lane restrictions and closures. Additional project information can be found on the City of Kingman website under Kingman Area Streets. A project information hotline (928) 377-4492, has been made available to report any concerns.
