About 1:30pm yesterday (2/17), the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female who had come across a UTV that had rolled over just north of Alamo Lake. The passengers were injured and needed immediate medical help. Due to the remoteness of the area and extended travel time by ground rescuers, medical helicopters responded to the scene. In the meantime, Search and Rescue was enroute to the scene to assist with the extraction. Initial reports indicated that a 39-year-old female passenger had severe injuries to her legs and a 40-year-old male was pinned under the UTV, while both were conscious. It was unknown how long prior to the arrival of the Good Samaritans that the rollover had occurred. Both the female and male (once extricated from the UTV) were transported by medical helicopters for further medical care. Search and Rescue wants to remind everyone when recreating in the remote and rugged wilderness areas of Mohave County, to never travel alone and make sure you have plenty of supplies. These two individuals are very lucky that the outcome of this event was not worse. Great job by everyone!
