On 07/09/24 at about 1107 hours, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Langford Drive and Baseline Road in reference to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian collision. A Cadillac sedan was reported to have intentionally collided with the pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim sustained major injuries and was flown to Las Vegas via air ambulance to be treated. The driver of the Cadillac was identified by the victim, and the driver and vehicle were located by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office in Mohave Valley a short time later. Bullhead City Police Department traffic investigators went to the residence in Mohave Valley and identified the driver as Horace Letson, 60 of Mohave Valley, Arizona. Investigators learned Letson and the victim had a history confrontation, that the collision was an intentional act, and that Letson’s privilege to drive had been suspended by the State of Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division. Letson was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman on the charges of attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an injury collision, and driving with a suspended driver license.
