Yuma, Ariz. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will be temporarily closing T.K. Jones Campground for camping from Aug. 2 – Aug. 12, 2025. The closure will allow crews to re-pave the campground’s parking area, while the boat launch and day use area will remain open.
T.K. Jones Campground and Boat Launch is located on the backwaters of the Colorado River directly above Imperial Dam. The site features over 100 RV and dispersed tent camping sites and includes amenities such as a paved boat launch, docks, canoe launch area, potable water dispenser, gray water disposal, and four restrooms. Picnic tables and grills are also available.
The BLM periodically enhances recreation areas like T.K. Jones by improving signage, accessibility, and amenities. These ongoing improvements are designed to provide a safer and more enjoyable recreation experience for all visitors.
The BLM manages about 245 million acres of public land throughout 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. In addition, the agency administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate across the nation. The mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
