BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona, August 14, 2026 – Bullhead City staff, City contractors, and utility companies will be busy during the week of August 17 with several maintenance and capital improvement projects:

• McCormick Construction will pave the southbound right-hand turn lane of Highway 95 into the future City Centre development between Marina Blvd and Riverview Dr. The existing outside southbound lane of SR-95 will be closed Sunday evening and Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving.

• Southwest Gas, in partnership with Northern Pipeline Construction Co. (NPL), will install a new gas main along Bullhead Parkway between Laughlin Ranch Boulevard and Landon Drive through September. Work will occur daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., with intermittent lane restrictions at the intersection of Bullhead Parkway and Laughlin Ranch Boulevard as well as periodic southbound right-lane closures. No full road closures are anticipated, and access through the area will be maintained.

• Bullhead City Utilities will replace and/or install approximately 10 new fire hydrants at various locations throughout the city. This project is part of the City’s water master plan to upgrade or replace hundreds of aging hydrants with new state-of-the-art units.

• T.R. Orr, Inc., on behalf of the City, will continue constructing new restrooms at Community Park, located just south of the Bullhead Belle.

• Gold Rush Rd (from Silver Creek Rd to Black Mountain Rd) and Black Mountain Rd (from Gold Rush Rd to Acacia Way) will be periodically closed to through traffic while contractors upgrade the existing gas main in the right-of-way. Residents along these areas will retain access to their properties.

• The eastbound lane of Silvercreek Rd at the intersection with Gold Rush Rd will be closed, with traffic diverted into the median for several weeks while contractors upgrade the existing gas main.

• Contractors working with Bullhead City Utilities will complete a number of asphalt and concrete repairs around the City in areas where recent water line repairs were made.

• Kay Constructors LLC, under contract with Bullhead City Utilities, is building a new aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant, part of an expansion effort to increase the volume of water the City can reclaim.

• Bullhead City Utilities will rehabilitate a clarifier at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant, located at 901 Richardo Ave. This work includes draining, cleaning, and measuring the clarifier before installing new mechanical equipment and protective material to extend the concrete’s lifespan.

• Kay Constructors is also constructing a new clarifier at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant.

Residents can be among the first to receive road closure notices and timely project updates by downloading the Bullhead City Direct app, available for Android and iOS devices. This app is the public’s direct line to City Hall for updates and to report local issues.

The City reminds the public to flush only human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of by alternative means to avoid damage to the City’s infrastructure.
