BULLHEAD CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT: WARNING TO COMMUNITY ABOUT MISLEADING DONATION REQUESTS

Bullhead City, AZ – The Bullhead City Police Department would like to alert and inform the public about a letter that has been circulating, abusing the name of the Bullhead City Council and Police Department to solicit donations from residents.

Reports have been received from local residents who’ve been contacted by a supposed ‘National Police Association’. The Police Department warns that the contents of this letter are very misleading. This organization may indeed exist and be legitimate, however, it is based out of Texas and any contributions made to them do not reach the Bullhead City Police Department.

The public should be aware that neither the Bullhead City Council nor the Police Department solicits funds from the community. The Police Department urges citizens to exercise caution and be suspicious of any outreach, be it via call, text, email or mail that asks for money, threatens, claims outstanding payments or declares a prize winning.

It cannot be stressed enough to protect personal information and never give out bank account details or send money unless the contact was initiated by yourself with a known person or company. In case of any doubt, do not entertain the contact but hang up and call the number you know is legitimate.

For further inquiries, follow Bullhead City Police Department on their social platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or call 928-763-9200 ext. 8220.
