The Center for Digital Government has named Lake Havasu City a Top 10 Digital City, marking the first year Lake Havasu City has ranked among the top digital cities in the U.S. Lake Havasu City ranked ninth among small-sized cities in the 2022 Digital Cities Survey, joining other leading cities like Williamsburg, Virginia; Tamarac, Florida; and Schaumburg, Illinois.

“This recognition is a true testament to all the hard work our staff has made over the past several years to improve technology and improve innovation in all we do in Lake Havasu City,” said Administrative Services Director Jill Olsen.

Over the past year, Lake Havasu City has implemented numerous technology initiatives and systems to improve internal efficiencies and deliver more effective services to residents and visitors.

Lake Havasu City makes the most of its tech resources to move the city forward, and IT has made a concerted effort to ensure its work aligns with city leadership and priorities. The IT department has helped make an existing asset management system more effective. The department has also undertaken a two-year project to update and secure the city’s servers, including building a new disaster recovery site and upgrading existing virtual infrastructure.

Each year, the Center for Digital Government — a national research and advisory institute on IT policies and best practices in government — conducts the Digital Cities Survey to inform its digital city rankings. This comprehensive survey is distributed to all U.S. cities, towns, villages and consolidated city-county governments.

The Center for Digital Government is recognizing Lake Havasu City and all of the 2022 Digital City honorees at an awards ceremony on November 17. For more information, visit: https://www.govtech.com/dc/digital-cities/digital-cities-survey-2022-winners-announced.
