KINGMAN, Ariz. – The Kingman City Council voted August 17, 2023 to enter into a contract to recruit an interim city manager to ensure stability in city administration while the Council decides on a permanent replacement for former City Manager Ron Foggin.

“During this transitionary time, the City Council would like to reassure the community that the City of Kingman is open for business and services will continue to be provided at the same level of excellence the community is accustomed to receiving,” said Mayor Ken Watkins, “Additionally, the Council is committed to maintaining the partnerships necessary for continued advancement on the traffic interchange projects, as well as the other projects identified in the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan.”

The lengthy recruitment process to bring on a permanent replacement will be facilitated through the Human Resources team with the help of an independent executive recruitment firm. City Council agreed on the steps to jumpstart a transparent search process for a permanent city manager, to include updating the job qualifications for that position. Candidates will undergo a multi-step screening and interview process with the City Council. As of now, the exact time frame to expect the placement of a new city manager is unknown.
