Kingman, AZ – The City of Kingman is recognizing Alex Prokop, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course, for completing two professional certificate programs that will support the ongoing care of the course and enhance the experience of its golfers.
Prokop recently completed a Certificate Series covering agronomy, environmental stewardship, principles and communication, and business. He also earned a Groundskeeper Certificate focused on turfgrass preparation and maintenance, equipment use and safety, teamwork, communication, and golf course etiquette.
The knowledge gained through these programs will help Prokop and the maintenance team make informed decisions about keeping Cerbat Cliffs healthy, playable, and well maintained. Practical applications include recognizing turf stress before it becomes a larger problem, adjusting maintenance to seasonal conditions, and helping worn areas recover from heavy use. Thoughtful irrigation and maintenance planning can also help the team use water, equipment, and staff time effectively.
For golfers, these efforts support smoother putting surfaces, healthier fairways, and more consistent conditions throughout the course. Coordinating maintenance around play also enables crews to complete essential work while minimizing disruptions during a round.
Prokop’s accomplishments reflect his ongoing commitment to bringing new knowledge and skills to Cerbat Cliffs. The City of Kingman congratulates him on this achievement and appreciates the pride and dedication he brings to caring for one of the community’s recreational amenities.
