BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., May 12, 2023 – The City of Bullhead City responded to a vehicle accident that occurred roughly 12:33 p.m. along SR-95 near the intersection of Rancho Colorado Blvd. A vehicle collided with power infrastructure causing two power poles and power lines to collapse onto the highway.
Bullhead City Police are diverting traffic from SR-95 between Silver Creek Rd and Laughlin Ranch Blvd until the roadway has been cleared. The public is advised to please avoid the area and find alternate routes. There is no estimated time for the reopening of SR-95.
Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) reports the downed power pole has caused a power outage for 664 MEC members in the surrounding area. MEC crews are onsite making repairs. There is no estimated time for power restoration.
Bullhead City Utilities’ wells have been affected by the power outage. Water customers in the area may experience low water pressure. Bullhead City Utilities is actively monitoring the situation and working to keep water service available for everyone.
