City-Wide Maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects Week of May 15

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., May 12, 2023 – City of Bullhead City staff and contractors will be working on the following projects throughout our city during the week of May 15:

  • City staff will be sweeping streets as needed throughout the city. Updates for the 2023-2024 city street maintenance program will be posted on the City’s website at www.bullheadcity.com/csmp before the season begins.
  • Contractors continue work on the new amenities being added to the North end of Community Park. The entire project at the north end of Community Park is anticipated to be completed and opened for the public before the summer of 2023.
  • Public Works staff will be working to convert the Bullhead Belle into a permanent structure at Community Park. The City plans to open the Bullhead Belle as a riverside concession stand and event gathering location during June 2023.
  • Construction on the expansion of pickleball courts is underway, a contractor will continue building new pickleball courts adjacent to existing pickleball courts at Rotary Park. Concrete was recently poured for the project and is now curing. The City anticipates opening the new pickleball courts for the public in Late June.
  • A contractor will be rehabilitating the 16-2 wastewater lift station located on Clubhouse Dr west of highway 95. The project will involve installing paneling made of Predl material to protect the well from corrosion. The city anticipates the completion of the 16-2 lift station rehabilitation project in late June. Upon the completion of the project at 16-2, the city will begin the same work at the 18-2 lift station with the expectation that the project will be completed in the fall of 2023.
  • City crews will be rehabilitating manholes around the city, primarily along the east side of SR-95 in the river district. The rehabilitation project is repairing and upgrading 40 manholes throughout the city that have experienced significant corrosion. The new manholes are guaranteed by the manufacturer to last 50-years. The City has rehabilitated 11 manholes since the start of the project.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Marina Blvd May 22, 2023. More information will be released at a later date.

The City reminds the public to please only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through other means to avoid damage the city’s infrastructure.

Please use caution while traveling through City work zones. Obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
