City-Wide Maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects Week of June 12

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., June 9, 2023 – City of Bullhead City staff and contractors will be working on the following projects throughout our city during the week of June 12:

  • City staff will be sweeping streets as needed throughout the city.
  • McCormick Construction, under contract with the City of Bullhead City, will continue the reconstruction of Marina Blvd During the evenings of Monday June 12 and Tuesday June 13. Crews will begin applying the second 2-inch lift of asphalt along all lanes between Lakeside and Highway 95. Work will begin each night at 7 p.m. and complete by 7 a.m. Overnight intermittent road closures with detours are expected during the work. The intersection of Lakeside Dr and Marina Blvd will continue to operate as a 4 way stop until the second lift of asphalt has been completed.
  • McCormick Construction will begin reconstruction of Camino Del Rio between Lause Rd and Chaparral Dr during the daytime Friday, June 16. Crews will mill, grade, and repave the roadway. Construction of Camino Del Rio is expected to be completed June 22.
  • Contractors will be adding final touches to the ongoing project at the North end of Community Park as the new Family Fun Zone nears completion. A future announcement will be made to announce an opening date for the park.
  • Public Works staff will continue working to convert the Bullhead Belle into a riverside concession stand and event gathering location. The City anticipates opening the Bullhead Belle during the month of June 2023.
  • Construction of the new pickleball and tennis courts at Rotary Park adjacent to the existing courts is expected to conclude during the week. A future announcement will be made to announce an opening date for the new courts.
  • A contractor will be rehabilitating the 16-2 wastewater lift station located on Clubhouse Dr west of Highway 95. The project will involve installing paneling made of Predl material to protect the well from corrosion. The city anticipates the completion of the 16-2 lift station rehabilitation project in late June. Upon the completion of the project at 16-2, the city will begin the same work at the 18-2 lift station with the expectation that the project will be completed in the Fall of 2023.
  • City crews will be rehabilitating manholes around the city, primarily along the east side of SR-95 in the River District. The rehabilitation project is repairing and upgrading 40 manholes throughout the city that have experienced significant corrosion. The new manholes are guaranteed by the manufacturer to last 50-years. The City has rehabilitated 11 manholes since the start of the project.
  • A contractor working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will continue a project to extend a water main from Lewis Dr behind Big Lots to Black Mountain Rd. Work began Tuesday, May 30, and is expected to finish by the end of June. Crews will cut along the far Southeastern corner of Lewis drive to install the new water main.

The City reminds the public to please only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through other means to avoid damage the city’s infrastructure.

Please use caution while traveling through City work zones. Obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
