Volunteers have organized a search for a Kingman resident missing for more than six years. Weather permitting, it will take place at 9am this coming Sunday, September 11th. Tyler Stice was last seen at his home in the 4700 block of Scotty Drive in June of 2016. He failed to show up for his job at the Kingman Airport and Industrial Park the following morning. His vehicle was located days later at the Deer Canyon Picnic Area in the Hualapai Mountains. Search dogs were used to track his scent for nearly a mile along a wash. Unfortunately, multiple searches of the area in 2016 & 2017 failed to turn up any evidence.
An investigation revealed that Tyler had purchased a rifle from the Kingman Walmart before he went missing. The case attracted a lot of attention online where various videos, social media posts, and discussion forums have explored theories. Despite the attention and numerous tips provided to investigators the case went cold.
Search volunteers are asked to sign in at the Deer Canyon Picnic Area which is in the Hualapai Mountain Park boundaries. Parking is available in the lot as well as along Deer Canyon Road. A limited number of t-shirts and caps featuring Tyler’s photo and information will be distributed. Volunteers are asked to dress comfortable for hiking and be mindful of their limitations.
