On Saturday (1/27), the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue conducted ASARCA Tracker III field evaluations. The ASARCA Tracker III program includes the introduction of the fundamentals of tracking, such as mental preparedness, clue awareness and preservation, tracking and personal equipment, line searches and the functional organization of the tracking team. Tracking teams were evaluated on their skills to identify a specific track and follow it through a series of different tracking conditions (such as hard/packed ground, sandy washes, varying terrain and brush, etc). Tracking is a great skill to learn and can be an important tool in search and rescue missions. Great job by everyone!!
