FORT MOHAVE–A Fort Mohave man is in critical condition at a Las Vegas hospital after he was reportedly struck by an alleged drunk driver Monday night while walking on Aztec Road.

Jason Squyres, 42, was walking eastbound in the dirt area in the 500 block of Aztec Road around 7:40 p.m. when he was reportedly struck by Genevieve Bowen, 54, of Fort Mohave, who was driving westbound in a Kia Soul, said Fort Mojave Tribal Police Chief Sonny O’Hara.

“She (Bowen) swerved off the road into the dirt striking Squyres before continuing down Aztec Road,” said O’Hara. “Witnesses to the accident followed Bowen to the parking lot of the Avi Smokeshop, 10000 Aha Macav Parkway, where they detained her prior to police arriving.”

Squyres reportedly sustained major multiple injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

Bowen was detained and arrested by Tribal officers.

O’Hara said she was taken to the Tucker Detention Center in Laughlin where an intoxication test reportedly showed Bowen at .132 percent, one and a half over times over the legal limit. She was subsequently taken to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas on suspicion of driving under the influence.

O’Hara said Bowen is also facing charges from Arizona for aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an injury accident and driving under the influence.

“The Mohave County Prosecutor’s Office will be the lead prosecuting agency,” said O’Hara.

Bowen will be extradited back to Mohave County.

First of all I don’t understand why people would even drive away from an accident scene but drive away knowing you just hit a human being and cause that much damage to your vehicle to still drive away I mean he had to be in the car with her as she drove away lady you are one sick individual and you deserve every thing you get

The state should put in place steeper fines, mandatory license suspension, a thousand hours of community service , I could go on. Should this be implemented, you watch DUIs drop dramatically

First of all you should investigate the story more before posting false information…. She never went to Vegas an was released with only the charge of under the influence. Nothing else.
