On March 24, 2023 K9 Brutus and his handler conducted a traffic stop on a minivan traveling northbound on Interstate 15 for several traffic violations. Reasonable suspicion illegal criminal activity was afoot was gained through speaking with the vehicles’ occupants. K9 Brutus conducted a sniff of the vehicle yielding a positive indication. A probable cause search was conducted locating cocaine and a firearm. It was determined both occupants were undocumented aliens, prohibited possessors of firearms, and possessed cocaine.
