KINGMAN, AZ – A significant rise in vehicle thefts and burglaries has been noted in the unincorporated sections of Kingman, according to local law enforcement agencies. The overwhelming majority of these incidents are taking place in the Butler/ Birdland region.
Moreover, the Kingman Police Department has reported a corresponding increase in similar crimes within urban boundaries.
Efforts to address these concerns are ongoing, with law enforcement agencies calling upon members of the community to join them in their investigative endeavors. The department encourages residents and business owners who have security cameras to be vigilant for any unusual activity possibly connected to these offenses.
Providing assistance can be facilitated in several ways. Video footage or photos of suspects, or vehicles used in the offences, can be submitted via our Axon Citizen Evidence link at https://Mohave.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/autothefts, or through the provided QR code. Information can also be shared with the Detectives at 928-753-0753 ext. 4288, via our toll-free number 1-800-522-4312, or by emailing MCSO@mohave.gov.
In an effort to impede these crimes, authorities would like to remind community members certain measures can be taken to prevent vehicle theft. These measures include securely locking vehicles, not leaving keys in parked cars, parking in well-lit areas, not leaving valuables in plain sight within your vehicle, installing motion lights or cameras if possible and reporting any suspicious activity to local law enforcement agencies.
We also believe it is pertinent to remind vehicle owners of the necessary information to be provided to deputies in the event of a vehicle theft. This includes the year, make, model and color of the car, license plate number, and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
The safety of our community continues to be of upmost importance. We hope, by working together, we can lessen the rate of these concerning crimes.
