Release #: 1
The Kingman Police Department is proud to announce that its Property and Evidence Section has earned accreditation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP)—completing what ALEAP refers to as The Trilogy: accreditation of our law enforcement agency, our dispatch center, and now our property and evidence operations. The award was presented during the ALEAP conference in Prescott, Arizona, and was highlighted by Chief Rusty Cooper during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
This distinguished achievement places the department among a select group of agencies statewide that have achieved all three levels of ALEAP accreditation. Arizona remains the only state in the nation offering this full spectrum of professional accreditation.
What Accreditation Means:
ALEAP accreditation represents a rigorous, independent review of a department’s policies, procedures, and practices. It confirms that the Kingman Police Department meets and maintains the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and service. Beyond a certificate, accreditation is a continual process of improvement that ensures the department operates under nationally recognized best practices. It builds community trust, strengthens leadership development, and positions the department to qualify for future federal grant funding.
Building Community Trust:
Community trust and support have always been central to the department’s success. Accreditation reinforces that trust through independent oversight—ensuring confidence in both the department and the standards that guide it. The Kingman Police Department remains dedicated to continuous improvement, professional excellence, and serving the community with integrity and pride.
