Kingman project receives national recognition. Talisman Magic Marketing in collaboration with Kingman Main Street, is proud to announce that Kingman Tours has been designated as an official Route 66 Centennial Certified project. This prestigious recognition was conveyed to Steve LeSueur of Talisman Magic Marketing by Bill Thomas, Chairman of the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership and Commissioner for the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission.

Official Certification and Benefits

As a certified project, Kingman Tours is now authorized to use the official Route 66 Centennial logo on its website, a mark of distinction that underscores its commitment to preserving and promoting the historic legacy of Route 66 in Kingman. Additionally, Kingman Tours will receive recognition on the Route 66 Centennial website, slated to launch in early 2025, thereby reaching a broader audience of Route 66 enthusiasts and travelers from around the globe.

A Celebration of History and Innovation

Officially launched during the National Road Trip Day celebration in 2022, Kingman Tours offers a unique, QR code-based self-guided walking tour of Kingman’s historic district. Narrated by author Jim Hinckley, the tour provides visitors with an immersive experience into the rich history and culture of Kingman, Arizona.

More Than Just a Tour

Kingman Tours is more than a historical exploration; it serves as a dynamic promotional vehicle for the city of Kingman. The platform includes a comprehensive calendar of events, an online gift shop stocked with exclusive Kingman Route 66 centennial merchandise, and a blog featuring insightful posts about local attractions and events. Visitors can also access a dining and attractions guide, ensuring they have all the information they need to enjoy their stay, or to plan a visit. Furthermore, the site hosts an embedded player for archived episodes of “Coffee With Jim,” the popular podcast from Jim Hinckley’s America, providing additional context and stories about the area.

Supporting the Community

Beyond its role in tourism and promotion, Kingman Tours is also a fundraising mechanism for Kingman Main Street. One of the notable initiatives is the sale of personalized bricks for the Route 66 Walk of Fame in Depot Plaza. This initiative not only helps fund local projects but also allows supporters to leave a lasting legacy in a historic setting along Route 66. Information about purchasing a brick is readily available on the Kingman Tours website.

Looking Ahead

The designation of Kingman Tours as an official Route 66 Centennial Certified project marks a significant achievement for Kingman Main Street and Talisman Magic Marketing. It reflects their dedication to enhancing the visitor experience while honoring the storied past of Route 66. As the centennial celebrations draw nearer, this recognition will undoubtedly help attract more visitors, fostering a deeper appreciation for Kingman’s unique heritage and contributing to the local economy.
