When officers arrived, the male subject was observed in the backyard and appeared to be holding a handgun. Officers believed that the male fired a couple of shots in their direction, then proceeded to barricade himself inside his residence.

As a result of a possible weapons offense, the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team responded to the 2800 block of Janet Drive in an attempt to contact the male subject. At approximately 2:20 p.m., the male was safely taken into custody without incident.

None of the officers involved were injured in the incident. This investigation is still ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
