MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (February 10, 2025) – The long-awaited television services upgrade for the Lake Havasu and Desert Hills areas will commence on February 13, 2025. The upgrade process, which may extend through the weekend of February 15th and 16th, will temporarily disrupt television service for residents in these areas. This necessary interruption is part of a project executed by the TV District sub-contractor, Wecom, aimed at replacing older transmitters with new, more powerful models to extend coverage and improve service reliability.

Erin Shrecengost, Administrative Services Director for Mohave County, explains, “We welcome this valuable and needed upgrade. While it will be problematic for some over a few days, the significant improvements by Wecom will make it more than worthwhile for the long term.”

The new transmitters are expected to address reception issues experienced by some viewers due to terrain and weak signals. During the outage period, the construction teams will work expeditiously to minimize downtime and complete the upgrade as quickly as possible.

Residents are advised not to attempt to rescan TV channels until the services are fully restored. For any inquiries, customers can contact Wecom during business hours at 928-753-3829. Calls received after hours will be answered by a live representative, and a customer service specialist will follow up during regular business hours.

It is important to note that this upgrade only affects Over the Air Television services and does not involve any Internet services.
