At approximately 4:00 p.m. on the day of the incident, deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 8200 block of South Green Valley Road. The call involved a male subject who was reported to be suicidal and armed with a knife. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a male in the front yard holding an object that appeared to be a handgun.
