At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19th, a fire was reported by the neighbors in the 3100 block of Douglas Drive. The neighbors discovered a fire in the backyard of the residence and called 911. The first arriving fire company reported a spa on fire in the backyard.
Three engine companies, one truck company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 25 minutes. The occupants were not home at the time and two dogs were safely pulled from inside the home.
There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. LHCFD CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Desert Hills Fire Department moved up to Lake Havasu City to assist with other 911 calls during the incident. Crews remained on the scene an additional 1.5 hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
