At approximately 4:30 am on March 7th, 2023 Engine 311, Engine 321, Brush 353, Battalion 3, Ladder 234 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the 2800 block of Neal Ave for the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, E311 was met with a large amount of fire pushing through the right side of the home. During the initial push to enter the residence, crews were met with a heavy interior fuel load and a large amount of fire. Crews notified command, who in turn, made the decision to move tactics to a defensive operation. Fire crews were able to protect all surrounding structures, but sadly the residence is a total lose. There were no injuries to the homeowner or his dog. The homeowner is working with the red cross. No injuries to the fire personnel to report.
