At approximately 0950 am, emergency responders swiftly reacted to a reported structure fire on the 315 block of River Glen Dr. Battalion 7, along with Engine Companies E-721, E-761, E-731, and E-711, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, E-721 found a class “A” coach motorhome on fire and initiated a rapid attack strategy, acknowledging the presence of a nonambulatory individual trapped in the rear of the motorhome. Under the command of Battalion 7, E-721 efficiently suppressed the flames, enabling a safe entry for victim extrication. The occupant was successfully rescued, while all other occupants and pets were accounted for and safely outside the premises upon arrival.

Despite being engaged in training at Station 2, E-761 promptly joined the response efforts. E-761 played a crucial role in establishing water supply and contributed significantly to the firefighting operations, including search and rescue tasks.

E-711 arrived with Medical Unit M-751 and provided essential medical assistance to the victim. The coordinated efforts of E-711 ensured the victim received prompt and appropriate care.
Throughout the incident, E-731 remained strategically staged at Level 1, prepared to provide additional support as needed, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the response.

Thanks to the swift and coordinated actions of all responding units, the fire was swiftly extinguished, and crews transitioned seamlessly into the salvage and overhaul phase, minimizing property damage and ensuring the safety of all involved.

Fire investigators were called to the scene. After speaking with witnesses and gathering additional information, they determined that the fire was likely caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.
