What do you get when humble Christmas gnomes mix it up with their perky but prideful elven counterparts? The Voices of the River community choir will show you at 7:00 p.m. (AZ time) on Friday, December 9 at their 2022 Christmas Gala program, “Gnome for the Holidays.”  Pack up the entire family and head to the Aquarius Pavilion in Laughlin, NV for an evening of holiday-style laughs and musical adventure.

Director Shawn Bristle encourages everyone to celebrate the season by coming to the program dressed as North Pole elves and gnomes. “The show is family-friendly, full of goofy holiday characters singing fun seasonal songs.” Christmas elves will joyfully sing, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year along with selections from Elf, the Broadway musical. Enjoy VOR’s renditions of popular Christmas classics like “Please Come Home for Christmas” and “It’s the Holiday Season.”

People looking for meaning will not be disappointed. “Even though the message is delivered by zany fictional characters, the choir will share a sincere seasonal message of hope and love,” said Bristle. “The program finale is a set of gospel songs guaranteed to move the coldest hearts and get even frozen toes tapping!”

Comprised of diverse individuals from across the county, from teens to octogenarians, Voices of the River community choir serves as a fundraising auxiliary to the Mohave Community College Foundation. Event proceeds will be used to generate a fund for adult learner scholarships. Tickets are $20 per person. Kids twelve and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Foundation planners are asking for event sponsors and advertisers who wish to be included in the color, glossy program. Tickets, ads, and sponsorships may be bought online at foundation.mohave.edu. Businesses who wish to discuss options in person may contact Barb at 928.234.2144 or Heather at 928.201.0881.
