MOHAVE COUNTY–Be sure to keep yourself cool and hydrated this week as the Colorado River region will be under an Excessive Heat Warning from Tuesday through Thursday.
The US National Weather Service Las Vegas Nevada reports the desert area of southern Clark County, Mohave County and Needles will see high temperatures ranging from 116 to 122 degrees.
Cooling stations have been opened in the Laughlin area. Those needing shelter from the outside heat can go to the following:
- American Legion Post 60, 1510 Bruce Woodbury Drive from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. An outside cooling area is available for pets that are under the control of the owner on a leash or in a carrier. No pets allowed inside.
- Colorado River Food Bank, 240 Laughlin Civic Drive from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Residents are urged to keep hydrated and to limit outdoor activities if possible. Also keep a close eye on kids, the elderly and pets.
