On Thursday (6/13), the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team joined other first responders from The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County Fire Department, Lake Havasu City Police Department, Lake Havasu City Fire Department, River Medical Ambulance, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Bureau of Land Management, and Care Flight Medical Helicopter in a multi agency training on Lake Havasu. The training included a scenario of a vehicle that crashed into the water with several victims inside.

During the scenario, Rescue Divers were deployed to rescue victims trapped in a vehicle. Simulated patients were also extricated from the water by fire and law enforcement boats, and simulated patients were also transported to a medical helicopter that was landed at a local marina.

These agencies worked together to coordinate, rescue, dive, and transport these simulated patients. This training is an annual occurrence and ensures that our area public safety agencies work well together in the event of a critical incident.
